Others beating hard bosses with low CP Pokémon?

This might be a silly question but I’m new to the Pokémon rumble rush community!

I’ve been trying to beat the cp 2780 gengar with various super effective moves from cp 2600-2800 Pokémon (eg tyrannitar with bite). Also using SR alakazam. Also tried with SR entei. I’ve only been trying for a short time so I’m not bothered that I can’t beat it yet!

But here’s my confusion. When I look at others who have beaten it, their Pokémon are around cp 1900? Do we not all see the bosses as having the same CP?

Just trying to learn more about how the game works! Thank you!
