Need help with Pokemon Liquid Crystal clock on Mac!

Hello, I'm pretty sure I have the latest version of VBA-M and a copy of liquid crystal rom. However when I try and play it tells me its 'Too dark to set the time and that it will try to restart to turn on the clock' and then does that infinitely when I've turned on the clock in the 'Game Boy Advanced' section of 'Options'.
Is this a simple fix or another painful Mac impossibility? Thanks for all and any help/information you elite trainers might have.
