It seems that Chase Bank is no longer rejecting applications for cobranding cards due to 5/24. If you don't know what 5/24 is, it means that you can't be approved for Chase cards if you have opened five or more personal credit cards (from any card issuer) within the past 24 months. So for an example, if you opened 3 cards in the last 24 months and 1 card that was opened in the last 26 months, you would be 3/24 since the other card was over the 24 month period. This is based on an algorithm that many card holders (even myself) has experience. I was over 5/24 and still was able to get approved for the cobranded Amazon Prime Card. It is even reports that Chase business cards are also pushing applications through.
So what are your thoughts? Have you been able to slip past Chase's defense mechanism?
