Every few months my dad says the “where’s my lunch/coffee” “joke”, implying that as I’m a woman I should do it. He always says it ironically and after I tell him he can do it himself he says he’s joking.

Today I said “I don’t get it” and he said it was nothing and put the water to boil. Then he said it again and I asked him to explain the joke, he says it was no joke, just sarcasm. I asked him again to explain and he explained really awkwardly, and after that I said “why did you say it, sounds wrong” and he said idk and left

I’m happy! Although I know it was kind of rude from me, maybe next time he’ll think again before even try to make that kind of “joke”
