Learned something about police dogs at the airport
Post Body

I was leaving customs at the Cancun airport when a police dog alerts its handler to my backpack. I didn’t have anything suspect in there so I had no reason to panic. The officer tells me to open my bag and asks me if I am carrying any fruit. Not drugs or bombs, but fruit.

I did have a banana in my bag for some time during my flight before I ate it, which was probably what the dog was signaling for. At first I thought maybe the dogs are trained to smell for more than just fruit but the officer only asked about fruit. So either I look super innocent or the airport invests a lot of money making sure produce doesn’t travel.
