I bought my 6-year-old nephew his first watch earlier today and it reminded me of this lovely poem about a boy left behind in the classroom, forgotten by a teacher. Because he hasn't yet learned how to tell the time, he gets stranded in the 'clockless land' until she remembers him again. Once you're an adult you lose the innocence of escape from time and you're acutely aware of its passage.
