I'm not sure if it's common practice, but whenever I buy an anthology or collection, I often skip poems that don't interest me... Is that... alright? Or should I read the whole thing?

Usually I read them in order unless to skip ones I’m really not clicking with or there’s one I’m really excited for and want to read first
