I was at a virtual open mic and someone read a piece that was not their own, and I am desperate to find the artist name.
He read it from a book by a black woman and I think I remember either the name Sierra or Taylor?
The poem, which discussed the idea of kylie jenner sitting on her bed stealing her features, appropriating her blacknesss and her culture, was a monster of a poem. The poem ends by asking when Kylie will be black enough to have her voice completely silenced like actual black voices do. Something along the lines of that.
Please please help me find her so I can buy her book!!! It was quite possibly the best poem I have ever heard and I really want to find it so I can support this artist. Thank you - please remove if this is not acceptable to post here.
