Looking back at the road just traveled,

I can’t help but ponder my decisions,

To reflect on all the hurt and pain I had endured,

Just staring at that treacherous road,

The one I alone conquered.

Breathe.

But instead I scream,

Screaming at the sky asking why me.

The scars are deep and i will never forget the trials put forth in front of me.

Breathe.

But instead I cry out of frustration and familiar longing,

Wanting what I always have,

Wishing and hoping.

I just stare at that road.

Breathe.

And I do.

And then I breathe again,

And again,

And again.

Until I start laughing,

Because I realize it’s over.

I alone conquered it.

I traveled down it and I made it through.

And finally,

I turn back to what is in front of me with a smile.

Knowing that if I could survive that journey,

I could survive anything,

Because I alone conquered it.
