She stands before the mirror,
Searching for the woman she once knew,
Her reflection echoes doubt,
A silent whisper of forgotten worth.
The last man left her hollow,
A heart that no longer believes in its own song,
Love's melody turned dissonant,
Its chords frayed and worn.
She questions her beauty,
As if it were a fleeting dream,
Once vivid, now faded,
A shadow of what it used to be.
Her lips curve, but the smile
Does not reach her eyes,
No light dances there,
No warmth to greet the day.
Yet I see her as she cannot,
A goddess among mortals,
Delicate like a rose,
But with a core of steel,
A flame that burned through hell,
Untouched, unbroken,
A fierce fire in a fragile shell.
Her spirit, wild and untamed,
Refuses to be caged,
A soul meant to soar,
Not to be held by chains of past scars.
Her pride is her armor,
A shield against the world’s gaze,
If only she knew,
Any ask would be my command.
I am falling for her,
Falling for those eyes,
Twin pools of gentle rain,
Reflecting depths of joy and pain.
I fall for a smile
That has yet to find its way,
A smile that would brighten the stars
If only it knew how to shine again.
Would I be the one to break that spell?
Or end up a casualty,
Another soul lost
On the battlefield of rejection and sorrow?
Today, I saw the girl she was,
And the mighty woman she’s become,
Two sides of a coin,
Both beautiful, both scarred,
And I realized,
Loving her was not a choice,
But an inevitable fact,
Written in the stars,
Etched into my heart,
A truth I can no longer deny.
