Haunt me daily, a plight

How I wish to have more insight

And yet ever slowly the words necessary, finally flow…

I wish I could lay beside you in the night,

Soft whispers, light caresses with moonlight glow

I wish to stay beside you, to grow

A bright future, a playful muse

If only time weren’t so cruel

I impatiently…

Patiently wait for you

I wish I could look into your eyes

And dispel all the lies

I wish I could hold your hand

Reassure you I understand

However…how could I ever dare demand

That life be more kind

To those who hold lifetimes of pain

I wish I could see you smile

And I’d long to remain awhile

I wish I could hold you close

How you’ve so quickly become someone who means the most

I wish...

Yet am I selfish

With how my thoughts turn so devilish

And though I wish…

I know this…

This bliss of peace,

This kiss of vulnerability

You enrich me daily

In this, let me give and nourish

You resist

Yet I insist

Flourish and let me love you
