I dont care about google pay/banking app, I like rooting cause it gives me complete control over my device.

my previous phone was a redmi note 9 pro, rooting it was easy I just had to rename the magisk apk to zip and flash it with a custom recovery. but that was more than 3 years ago and it looks like thing have changed.

as far as I'm understanding the old method it's not recommend anymore now I have to extract a file called boot.img on the custom firmware and patch it using magisk, then flash it with a custom recovery, but the evolution x rom has no boot.img file.

some people on xda said the old apk to zip flashing still works, but other said they tried it and got stuck on bootloop

honestly I'm pretty confused I don't know what to do I'm still on stock miui, (I can unlock my bootloader tomorrow) googling doesn't help, i cant find any helpful results for some reason.
