People that engage in unhealthy behaviors that still think they are better than fat people

Post Body

I remember a while ago reading a comment that someone made on a post about dating complaining about how he can't attract any women other than fat women and how it's unfair that men have to be "jacked" to not have to settle for "land whales". I couldn't respond because replies were turned off, but my immediate thought was "why exactly do you think you are above fat women?" If a person is skinny and doesn't go to the gym and eats nothing but junk food, how are they any different than what they think fat people are like? So just because your body is smaller, that makes you better? It makes no sense.

It makes even less sense when it's people that engage in activities that we know are even more unhealthy for you than being overweight, like smoking. The amount of smokers that look their noses down on fat people is astounding. They are the last people that should be judging anyone for "unhealthy" choices. I've noticed this being especially common in people from countries that have high rates of smokers that criticize Americans for being fat.

I met a guy on Bumble about two years ago who fit every single one of these criteria. He was from Europe. He was a very heavy smoker. He was skinny as a toothpick. He didn't exercise at all. He ate like a pig. (He was also bald, unemployed, homeless, and in the country illegally but that has nothing to do with this discussion). I never criticized him once for any of these things because I honestly didn't care. And yet he couldn't give me the same consideration. My body was not good enough. He still thought I was beneath him.

I know that human beings are stupid and irrational creatures, but come on. Have even just a little smidgen of self-awareness.

Comments

It never was about being healthy. It's always about being fat. There is no greater sin. I've often wished I was an alcoholic instead of being a binge eater. At least I would be skinny.
