I have been googling and I am wondering if this is a shared experience among other fat girls.

So this weekend, i received many compliments (i had free time so i got done up in hair and makeup.) Some friends sent me a video unprompted calling me hot, i got compliments on my outfit today, and earlier this week my friend said she assumed i had a “glow up” because she thinks I’m hot. All of these were platonic instances. One guy from tinder called me cute, but he’s never seen me in person so i don’t count him much.

Here’s what I’m having trouble wrapping my mind around: why are all my friends saying i’m pretty and hot and all this, but when it comes to dating, i cannot get any play. and i mean at the level where i sent about a dozen hinge likes this weekend and got no matches. I’m just so frustrated because on one hand I think I’m pretty and attractive, but on the other hand i don’t feel like it’s enough. like nobody wants to date me because they’d have to let go of the ideal thin woman they have always pictured themselves with.

I’m feeling so caught in my own head about this and want to know if anyone has had similar experiences. If this is familiar and you’ve had recent mental clarity, please enlighten me. Google only provided me with people that assume “you’re so hot you intimidate men and they think you’re taken and out of their league” but i know that is innately untrue. i feel like im going crazy here!
