Hi folks, I'm trying to get my head around ongoing issues we have with our rental home boiler and central heating system, so I'm coming to you specifically about the boiler, please.
We have a Boulter Buderus Camray 5 boiler (at least that's what the casing says) and inside it is what says it is a Riello RD3 burner (specifically, the certificate says burner model Dzzt, though I cannot see that on the actual casing, but there is a stuck on label that says 'Riello 502T5K'). On our annual oil installation check certificate (like an annual gas safety check) it says the boiler runs at 89.5% gross efficiency, whereas online sources say lower, 81%.
When the plumber visited, I asked him how this was possible, and he said 'it's had some parts.'
We've been arguing that a 19 yo boiler can't be efficient enough. Even with new parts, isn't that efficiency what it was considered to be when it was new? Can parts even improve it past that?!
Our house is 1460 square feet, 3 bed, 2 lounges, 270 years old, thick limestone walls with no insulation and no floor insulation. Someone in another thread told me it's probably not a good enough boiler for the house, can anyone confirm?
Not asking for legal advice, but this is a bit more info on why I am asking:
