I have a sump pump and it is fed by a kitchen and a bathroom. (I’ll stop you there I know this is probably one of the dumbest set ups ever by that way my house was when bought it and what I am stuck with).

The Issue

I get a whiteish cream colored build up I want to call it a scoby or growth. this will build right at the water line all the way around the well. It hanged off the edge anywhere from 1/4 to 1.5 inches. (Unfortunately I didn’t think about posting here until I had washed it all down so no good pictures). When it gets to built up chunks will fall off and then stop the float from raising and turning on the pump. Is there any way to prevent this from happening. Or am I stuck manually cleaning it every 6 months to a year.
