[help] cutting down a pipe for a new compression fitting.

Post Body

I'm putting in a new vanity with drawers in my bathroom. I am also replacing the shut off valves to quarter turn compression valves. The problem is the vanity drawers won't close because the pipes stick out from the wall about 5 inches (with the old valves).

In order to make everything fit, what is the bare minimum of copper pipe I need coming from the wall to make sure the valve is secure? If I don't trim the pipe down, the drawers won't close.

I have not removed the old valves yet.
