So I have been in my townhouse for about a year and it seems as the weather gets colder there is a rancid smell coming from my drains in both of my bathrooms. My LL acts like I’m crazy, what could it be? I live near the beach, and it disappears in the summer but only seems to happen at night and only when the weather starts to get cold (60s).

Only one bath has a shower and when I cover the drain with a towel it lessens the stench but the other is a half bath so not sure where it’s coming from.

I’m posting here because “if they don’t find anything you’re responsible for the charges” but it literally only happens at night.

I thought it was maybe just a one off since I moved in November of last year, but here we are in October and the smell is wafting up again. The bathroom doors are always closed. The buildings are old and were recently renovated but it’s a slab foundation. I am not sure what’s happening but hope someone here can shed some light?
