I'm renting half a house that is split upstairs and down. I would like to fix the shower, and normally I would just figure it out, but since the it is a split rental, I would like to know if I can tackle this without shutting the water off, so I don't have to deal with the landlord or neighbor.
The shower knob turnes both directions, which is just weird. To the right, I get the fiery depths of hell. All the way to the right is warm, and backing off a couple of degrees is all I get before it is intolerabley hot.
To the left is Siberia levels of ice cold, way colder than my kitchen sink for some reason.
I expected the knob to only rotate one direction.
Is it fine to take off the knob and cover without shutting the water off, so I can see what's inside, and possibly adjust it so it works properly?
Thanks
