Help removing kitchen sink basket strainer

There's no lock nuts to remove it from underneath. From what I've seen in videos it should be as simple as unscrewing the bolt in the middle from above but trying to do so just turns the entire drain (& holding the housing below while turning it was also unsuccessful).
Any suggestions on how to get this apart?
