THE GAME IS OVER. CONGRATS TO THE HOUSE-BIRDS FOR WINNING.
ALSO CONGRATS TO THE CITY BIRDS FOR ELIMINATING THEIR ENEMIES... AND THE FOREST BIRDS FOR ELIMINATING THEIR ENEMIES... EVEN THOUGH BOTH OF YOU ALL ALSO DIED.
RECAP
Your team was your location. House, Yard, City, and Forest.
Who was enemies with who was decided completely at random. The dice roll put the house birds at war with the yard birds, and the city birds at war with the forest birds.
Species meant nothing. It was a red herring.
Coloration was your role. Colored birds learned species and friendly/enemy/neutral, bright birds learned team i.e. where they were from, dark birds learned abilities, and dimmed birds learned role i.e. coloration.
It took 2 kill attempts to kill a bird.
Recording how many actions had been taken and how many kill shots had been done to each person was hand-written.
Each player got RES tagged with important information to help with writing the death messages.
The canned responses were:
- Colored Message: You trail them back to their nest, where you discover that they are (a)(an) <x>!
- Bright Message: You tail them back to their nest, and find out that they are (from <x>)(a <x>-bird).
- Dark message: After watching him work, you discover that he learns the <x> of the birds that he follows.
- Dimmed message: After some intense birdwatching, you cannot help but notice how <x> their plumage is.
- Wound message: You manage to wound them badly before they escape.
- Death message: He dies!
None of the house-birds actually died.
Maku450 and BerryPi both win the awards for "most dead" with 4 kill shots each.
Based on my count, SecretSexyConnor and Galdion are the only players who used all of their actions. That said, my count is probably completely wrong.
Zecronto was the first player to multi-submit, giving me three actions at once.
A total of 54 actions got lost due to players dying with stuff left over. (Again, grain of salt, recording how much stuff was left was super hard.)
The winning team had 14 actions left over.
That means that there were 92 ACTIONS TOTAL in 2.5 hours.
Players were assigned to teams in the order that they responded to my reminder PM. The player list was left in the order that people signed up for the game.
To respond to each message, I pretty much just copy-pasted my canned script and replaced the <x> with whatever information needed to be there.
I accidentally sent Arandur two role assignments at first.
I was a little less descriptive when responding to one of the "Dark" birds once, and said that their target learned "location" instead of "team." Didn't make much difference though.
All-in-all, I think I did a good job of not making mistakes and I don't think I missed any actions.
