Simple solution for a Plex Media server?

I currently have a WD My Book 8TB with all my media files connected to my iMac which I have connected to my Shield and I leave it turned on all the time. Is there a more simple solution so I don't have to leave my iMac always turned on?
Would something like a WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra NAS Device work better?
I'm not so tech savvy so would appreciate any tips for the most simple solution here, thanks
