It seems whenever I move, I have some issues when I try to stream using my Diskstation 1815 . I need to write down everything next time so I can just set everything up right the first time.
Anyways, here are hopefully all of the details needed to get this all sorted out.
I have my media stored on a Synology Diskstation 1815 . I have an ethernet cable connected from the Diskstation to a switch.
Also connected to that same switch include; Google Wifi device (for internet), Samsung smart TV, among other devices not relevant to this.
I do have access to Plex app on my TV and able to start playing media, but the specific HD movie I tried watching tonight had major buffering issues within a minute or so. I have watched this movie before without issues.
My best guess is Plex is trying to stream if wifi and not wired.
The other main issue might be that my Diskstation might be overwhelmed while doing data scrubbing while playing a HD movie.
Can someone confirm that my physical set up is acceptable before I begin trouble shooting more?
I assume my next steps are to try to ensure both Plex and my TV are using wired for streaming and not wifi.
If my setup and wired streaming is confirmed, than I figure I need to wait a few weeks for my data scrubbing to complete, or try to pause it.
I will also try other HD movies in the meantime to see how that goes.
Also, maybe letting my Diskstation stay on overnight after being off for months may help.
Oh, I did run updates so that should not be an issue (manual for Plex, as well as other updates on my Diskstation itself).
Am I forgetting anything?
In the past, people were extremely helpful on this sub, so I came back.
