How do I stream 4k content properly?

I have a 4k movie I'd like to stream. It's around 25 GB. Whenever I try to stream it the stream is very laggy. I have great internet so that isn't the problem. I think it's because it has to convert it to a playable format.
How do I fix this? A noob friendly guide would be nice. Thanks
