Hi all,

Complete newbie to Plex and loving it so far. Yesterday I bought a Nvidia Shield TV Pro from Best Buy to act as my server and had a 5TB Lacie Rugged HD lying around to start messing with. I plan to upgrade to a 12 TB at some point.

After watching a bunch of tutorials I got to the point where I was trying to drag media on the Lacie HD into the Nvidia folder that was created after ejecting the Lacie HD from the Shield. I keep getting an error on my macbook when I try that says it was not able to complete the action. The error code it gives me is -50. I have this drive formatted EXFAT.

I ended up leaving the media on the Lacie HD in it's own folder and it works fine on the shield and works great on Plex! The 1st couple movies I tested looked great.

Now the issue I'm having is that from what I understand, I cannot transfer files over my local network wirelessly unless it is through that Nvidia folder on the Lacie HD.

Can anyone help me with this? Is sharing files wirelessly over the network even worth it?

As I mentioned I am a COMPLETE newbie so I will take ALL the tips and tricks you have!

Thanks!
