Let's organize an RPG! (Tabletop)

I've never played before, so I welcome all suggestions. D&D is the most well-known, but I have never played before, so I am willing to play anything really.
I figured that we can use TeamSpeak alongside an open-source RPG client for this purpose, such as OpenRPG. This works on Windows, Linux and OSX so everyone can join!
Also, we'd need a GM, as again, I've never played before.
