First time here with a side of hair raising electricity yesterday. People were looking at us funny when we ran out of the water crouching and sat on the sand after our hair stood up.
PSA if your hair stands up in the water near thunderstorms don't lay down to avoid being a target just kneel or sit. If lightning strikes nearby laying down is much more dangerous. No lightning strike happened at least so we just looked silly.
Had a great time there we will be back as much as we can manage the drive. Next time we will bring bug spray. Pesky tiny biting flies were the ultimate reason we headed back when we did in the early evening.
Does anyone have any good tent camping suggestions in the area?
