Playing Black Ops: Cold war Zombies without PS PLUS?

Hey,
Three friends of mine and mine want to play Call of Duty Cold War Zombies together. We still don't even own the game and we also don't have PS Plus in our accounts. Assuming we all buy the game, could we play together without us having PS Plus accounts? Like playing privately or locally, idk. Also, could we play online with other players? (I'm assuming that that's a hard no)
