HELP: Stuck on Douglas Glitch

I died once and ever since then when I respawn I am inside the entry elevator but the doors are closed, never open and Douglas is able yo shoot me buy I cannot shoot out. So I'm trapped in an endless cycle and restarting from the last checkpoint puts me in the same place.. I really don't want to start from scratch with a new game.. Any ideas?
