Is progression saved for all players?

I understand the save game concept, that whoever is the host, it's on them to re-load the game for everyone. But is there progression outside of that save, like certain unlocks or whatever, that persist across all runs? And are those persistent unlocks for all players, or only the host? Played the demo only and looking to buy, but this is a dealbreaker if it doesnt save progression across all players.
