Bought the Aqueon 10 starter kit today. Have I already screwed up?

Post Body

So after a couple weeks of research and browsing r/shrimptank I decided I wanted to try a colony of Red Cherry shrimp. Today I went out and bought just about everything I need (minus shrimp) and because all the lights and hoods at my local PetCo were $100 I went with the Aqueon 10 gallon kit.

The problem I'm afraid I'll have is that it comes with a yellow incandescent light. It looks GORGEOUS but I don't know if it is suitable for the plants I have in there (dwarf pennywort, anathera, and some kind of carpet moss with a forgettable name).

I'm also a little worried about heat. I forgot to buy a thermometer and am going back out to the store tomorrow to get one, but I can already tell that the incandescent light keeps the water somewhere in the mid-70s. I've heard this temperature is terrible for shrimp and I've heard it's perfect for shrimp. I do have a fairly large airstone to help but I don't know if that'll do enough in the long run. Any advice?

I would prefer to find another type of bulb suitable for the tank but I also wouldn't mind replacing the hood altogether. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to get a fan or a chiller that hooks on to the tank since shrimp are known for jumping out of aquariums. If this light/heat combo isn't suitable, what can I get on Amazon that'll work for my tank?

TLDR: Yellow incandescent light. Warm tank. Are plants fucked? Are shrimp fucked?
