Accidentally bought assassin snails, how big a deal is it?
Post Body

This might be a stupid question, but I'm relatively new to this.

I have a 150 litre (32 gal) community tank with a few types of fish and shrimp. My pleco isn't doing much to the algae on my glass, and my apple snail is far more interested in eating all of my plants.

To combat the algae I went to buy some zebra nerite snails online, but I (stupidly) accidentally bought 5 assassin snails 🤦‍♀️. From what I can read online they'll basically eat algae if there's nothing else to keep them fed, but how likely are they to take down my apple? Have I accidentally introduced an absolute menace to society?

Thanks.
