Post Body

Please help! We are desperate to identify this bastard tree/plant & figure out how to eradicate it from our property. We are in northeast Florida in the Jacksonville area.

We bought our house 5 years ago & there was this tall tree next to the house. It grows like crazy & the leaves stained our roof. We finally paid to have it cut down a year or so ago. Before we took it down, it was just one tall tree in one spot. Since then?? This thing is a BASTARD! New little babies are constantly popping up all around our property. I’ve never seen anything grow so quickly. The more you cut them all back, the more pop up there & in more new places as well.

It’s ridiculous & we don’t know what to do. It’s summer in FL, everything grows faster but this tree thing is insane. Lately we are cutting them down to the ground weekly. They grow up to several feet high in a week. Also - it isn’t like a normal tree. My partner said it seemed like a gigantic weed vs a tree, because the inside is hollow. Not solid like a normal tree.

Anyone familiar with this? What can we do?
