(For some background on me, I have around 200 hours in infil, and no way am I a pro infil, however these are just my take on the class as someone who finds the class low risk high reward)

Infilitrator in my eyes has 3 strong abilities, that are all arguably the best in the game or best in section. The cloak allows them to run away or to quickly reposition and makes them harder to hit, sniper rifles allows them to one shot people from close to far range (Strongest and fastest single person kill weapon), and the recon can tell enemy pushes and where enemies are, letting your team know where they are pushing and when. The only thing that this class doesn't have is anti vehicle and revives (thankfully), however it compensates by having three extremely strong abilities.

The difference between a good infil and a bad infil is aim, when it should honestly be positioning. While positioning is still important to be a good infil, you can easily compensate for being poorly positioned by cloaking and running away.

I believe that infil needs to be reduced to only being able to do 2 out of the 3 things at any given time. They can either have recon and bolt, have recon and cloak, or cloak and bolt.

CHANGES:

Rebalance on all cloaks to have limitations on skill usage.

Stalker Cloak: Stays same. It is fine as is as a recon tool, may need to be buffed after the other cloak changes but idk how that would even be possible.

Hunter Cloak -> Hunter Shroud (or a better name I am stupid): Access to sniper rifles and recon, but no cloak

Intention of rework: Benefits more passive infils, however you can still cqc bolt, at the cost of a higher risk playstyle than current CQC bolting. A LA doesn't just get to run in with a pump with no disadvantage, first you have to play LA, then you have to limit yourself (in this case to close range only).

NAC: Revert nerf, disables sniper rifle usage. (Helps out smg infil)

Intention of rework: Helps SMG infils be more of a thing, helps them be aggressive while still helping out their team, at the cost of killing potential.

(NEW CLOAK) Predator Cloak: Slower (twice as long as base uncloak time) and louder cloak, allows cloaking and bolting, disabled recon usage.

Intention of rework: Allows for CQC bolting, at the cost of recon. Rewards a playstyle of thinking ahead rather than in the moment, aka if you are caught out of place you should have to run away, not be able to fight back. At the same time, the access to cloak allows you to reposition after a kill if needed. Potentially could have a longer cloak duration to compensate for the slower decloak.

Outside of these I would like to hear y'all's takes, personally I believe that infil having all three abilities is too strong. I think converting infil from a jack of many trades into a more support class (having to choose what classes to get picks on, if they want recon, etc) is important for the health of the game. In most games the role of infil is considered a support class (aka turning it into a Recon class like in the battlefield games) and does not have cloaking abilities. Giving infil a cloak, a sniper, and recon is just a recipe for an excessively strong class.

While I don't think it is as needed as a max rework, I think in the future it definitely should be looked at.
