With the latest news of the Planetside 2 sale, I'm super bummed and can't justify putting in more hours if they're just going to theoretically shut down the servers next week. I imagine a lot of players who frequent Reddit feel the same way.

Even if news comes out that the game is going to remain 'On' indefinitely, the doom and gloom player count redditors are going to inevitably point to yet another huge drop in the player numbers and we'll see a renewal of all of the 'game is dead' posts, perpetuating the cycle further. Some will come back, but many won't.

I'm especially bummed because I've been grinding it out for a VS Eclipse these last few weeks and I'm partway there. I've played this game for hundreds of hours and it sucks to think that it may end so suddenly and without warning, potentially.

At this point I hope we get some positive news in the next day or two but that's likely being too optimistic.
