Did anyone else get a notification or email that your club was opening back up?

Our club was closed and membership frozen due to COVID (obvs) but I had no idea that my club had opened back up until my account was charged the monthly fee (and it was more than normal). I tried to contact through the app that I was not ready to go back and please cancel my membership. When I hadn’t heard back for a couple weeks I was going to call but then I noticed the annual fee was being processed (x2 for me and my wife). I am currently unemployed and my balance was very low, so they both incurred overdraft fees. I called yesterday to close the membership, they said I need to come in, and when I asked for a refund they said they do not offer refunds for annual fees. The fee is for Oct20-Sep21. Why should I pay a fee for a year that I will not be using the membership? Not to mention the year I paid last Oct that was not used for half the year... I’m going in tomorrow to talk to the manager since he was not in today. My wife and I like the club and would probably go back, but we’re not ready now, and probably never will if the manager doesn’t make this right.

TL:DR If we had received a notification that the club was opening ahead of being charged, we would have canceled. Did anyone get notified that your club was opening?
