Pixel Watch Battery Drain
Post Body

I'm a big Google nerd. I've been daily driving a Pixel phones since they came out and Nexus before that. I bought the Pixel Watch the month it came out. Battery life was never great but it would usually last through my work day and the night. I'd charge first thing while getting ready for work and I'd be good for the day again. Then when the last update occurred(March 2024?) the watch wouldn't last a day. Uninstalled any additional apps, disabled always on screen, factory reset, left battery saver mode on, etc. The watch battery would last until mid day. Google support was great and even gave me a one time replacement even outside of the warranty.

Received the replacement pixel watch this week and it was great. I got home from work the first couple days and the battery was 60% it was great. But then I got an update. Didn't even think about it and I installed it. Back to the battery drain again. It's 11:45AM right now and I've had the watch on my wrist since 8am. It's now dead.

Avoid the update if you can. If there's no update by the end of May to fix the battery drain I'm going to sell this on marketplace and buy a different brand or just ditch the smart watch fad altogether.

Edit I disabled Bluetooth and the watch life is fantastic now. Lasting well over 24 hrs now with always on turned off. Today I turned on always on, and 9 hrs I've used 40%. I have the LTE version and I'm also connected to wifi. Most of everything still works.

If you have this issue. Disable Bluetooth.
