Longtime mac user here. Since switching to a Pixel 2 a few months ago I like what I've seen of Android and the google ecosystem.
I travel extensively and the portability, battery life, and speed of the pixelbook has me thinking of switching from my macbook pro. But - My wife and I run a small business and also employ a few external consultants and I MUST be able to handle these specific business use cases.
We have a shared dropbox that we use to colloborate on word documents. Will I be able to create, upload, download, and modify word documents in dropbox using a Pixel? Switching to google docs is not an option I'm willing to consider because we have too many people that are familiar with our file hierarchy and word docs in dropbox - I'm not going to change that.
- I need to be able to create pdfs from those word documents, and also view, modify, and sign pdf documents.
- I travel extensively and need to be able to work on word documents and Pdfs while offline and not connected to the internet - for example while on a plane with no wifi or in an area without wifi or mobile data coverage.
The logical part of me says just get a newer lighter macbook and install office and adobe on it. But I do like the cool factor and uniqueness of the pixelbook and the lower price for what appears to be a premium device.
Looking for an honest assessment of whether I can do the things I need to do reliably and simply with a pixelbook.
thanks for your time folks,
