Hey everyone I got diagnosed with PR about 4 weeks ago started off on my chest, then my back , I had a few spots on my arms and honestly some on my neck as well , it started off with that patch you see on the first pic on the left then with in 2 days my chest was full of red bumps, I was literally freaking out bc itās my first time ever having this, I went to my primary care doctor and he said āitās PRā couple weeks passed by and I sent some picture for him to forward them to dermatology because I was skeptical ,all the in person appointments are weeks/ months from now I wanted answers NOW, dermatology reach back with the same answer ālooks like PRā. I try to get in my mind that this takes weeks / months to heal but it sucks seeing no progress and finding new patches everyday, but surprisingly as Iām finishing week 4 entering week 5 on Monday the spots have started to fade away and look dry and kinda brownish/ flat so I think thatās a good sign,I still have it kinda bad on my upper arms but as well those look more flat/ brown now than they did before some things Iāve done that I think have helped itās try to reduce as much stress as you can try to not focus on it too much because youāll go nuts just like I did the first 3 weeks and thatās no help , I noticed that mine would get red when taking even slightly warm showers so I stopped and started showering with cold water for 10 min twice a day, morning and night, morning when shower i just wash my body no soap/ no nothing , at night before I sleep I wash my body with scent free soap and I apply Aveeno oatmeal bath solution I get a good amount of powder on my hand and apply it to the affected areas let it sit for about 5 min then wash it off. when out the shower I apply this ointment my doctor prescribed me ( Triamcinolone Acetonide) both times morning and night , also bought vitamin D 2000 IU taking it once a day I seen that it helps but mainly try not to stress about it youāll be okay just know it takes time to heal or for you to see results and donāt let this play with ur mental health bc for me it did and thatās a big mistake, try to relax and let it heal on itās own this is just how my experience is going I thought Iād share it and hopefully at least uplift someoneās mood itāll get better ! Hoping for a speed recovery for all of yāall going through it .
