I like reading your paper. Really, I do.
What I don't like is getting a PM every other day asking to use things that I say on this subreddit to use in your articles.
I'd prefer to keep the things I say on here contained to reddit. I do not want my full name, major, and year associated with my username more than it already is. I don't want someone connecting me to my account through an official University outlet, where I have said some less-than-stellar things and looked stupid in the 2 years that I have had this account.
Most of the self posts nowadays are questions from TPN farming the Pitt subreddit for substance for your articles. I don't know your policies or what you are free to do/not do, but I suggest actually reaching out to students, not usernames. Ask your classmates, go to Facebook/Twitter, or bother people in Towers Lobby for stuff. In the past, you've introduced yourselves from TPN and been heavily downvoted - that should be a clue that we do not want to contribute.
I understand that I am a bit of a hypocrite because I promote my stuff on this subreddit. I understand that you are just trying to do your job. I understand that I am solely responsible for what I say online. I am asking you to please be transparent about your stuff when you make your post, or maybe consider going to different media to get content.
If you want to use my quotes in your articles, please just credit /u/hockeychick44. Stop PM'ing me.
