Tri tip help!

So I made a tri tip (first timer) Used a rub. Put it on 250f for about 5 hours until 160f internal temp. Pulled off grill put butter on top and a little extra rub, wrapped in foil.

Put back on grill for about 2 hours until 200f. The meat was moist and tender although not juicy. And the flavor was barely there. Any suggestions??
