Screw size

Can anyone tell me what size screws hold the access panel onto the bottom of the hopper? I need to replace the ones I miss placed for my Lexington. I thought they were 6-32 but I bought some and they only thread in a little ways? Thanks Pic of other nights meal for attention

Most likely metric. A 6-32 would be very close to an M3.5, so either an M3.5 or M4.
