Haki is so horribly fucking depicted it's annoying, especially so called "ACoC" or conqueror's coating. Oda should be embarrassed by this, it's one of the most hyped up powers in the verse but the fans are constantly arguing whether it was used or not just because of how ambiguous and dogshit the visual clues for it are. Even in the latest chapter it's so fucking confusing, did Luffy use it on Warcury? If not, why not? Black lighting is used all the time whether it's conqueror's or not, and no touching is also used by advanced armament and it's inconsistent and hard to see, especially when used by something like G5 Luffy or Zoro's slashing attacks. Couldn't that hack Oda just come up with a clear and a unique visual clue? Like creating black flame or some other edgy bullshit from ACoC attacks I dunno.

And honestly ACoC is such a stupid concept to begin with. It's an advanced application of the rare type of haki that only a few chosen posses; in it's base form it allows you to affect your enemies mentally and impose your will on others.

But guess what's the advanced application of that haki is? It's literally the same as armament haki but stronger, ACoC could have easily been just another armament techniques and it would look perfectly reasonable. Not only it renders armament absolete, it's just uninspired and diminishes the individuality of conqueror's haki...

Oda is such a hack sometimes...
