How to use controller on fitgirl games?

I was trying to use my ps4 controller on sekiro (fitgirl version) and it wouldn’t work I tried ds4 which didn’t work because I think the game uses the xbox one controller as the base one. Anyway i did hook it up and the camera kept spinning (this happened a few times when I plugged in the controller) keep in mind this controller has nothing wrong with it I use it very frequently and it has never done that. Any suggestions on how I could get the PS4 controller to work on it?
