Installing recent APK on Pixel 7

Hi,
I've been trying to install a very recent APK game (Football Manager 2023) on my Pixel 7. I keep getting errors about not being able to install on my system. I'm on most recent Android. What could be the issue here? It's on the play store, compatible with my phone so I don't understand why an APK wouldn't work. I've already tried APK's from different sources
