Broken pipe

I bought a Medico pipe from an antique shop, took it home and promptly broke it putting the stem back in. The part that broke off is the wood part that comes off of the bowl that the stem goes into.
I fixed it with E6000. Is it safe to smoke, or should I clean it off and use a different epoxy?
