I often hear/read the advice "don't over-sideboard" but it rarely comes with actual numbers for guidance. I would love to hear some thoughts from experienced and successful players. Thanks guys !
It depends on matchup mostly I'd say my average is like 3-4 card swap out, most I've ever done is 7 and this was prior to us beginning the sideboard guides, since then max I've done is 5 and that's only been against an izzet drakes deck brought in the rending volleys and a cindervines and squeezed out a win cause they had to stop casting spells. I play against a lot of spirits players so 4 rending volley immediately go in on that matchup lol
My playgroup has recently started to develop "sideboard guides" for the deck they are playing against meta matchups, just came in 2nd at and RCQ with Atarka red myself.

I almost never trim the command cause even if they have problematic blockers if we have enough to get around sometimes it's just good enough with the 3 damage as well, won many a game by making some less than favorable trades and then on the next turn surprise getting them with a ramunap ruins or top decked burn spell
