How is the current job market climate right now for devs?

Post Body

Dami kong nababasa recently na medyo tough ang job market ngayon sa mga devs and mahirap makahanap ng work. This is giving me anxiety pero how true is this?

  • Devs who have recently secured a job, how long did it take you to get one?

  • How does it compare to your previous job-hunting experiences?

To contribute my experience, my current job is my first from being a fresh grad and it took me about 4 months of applying to start working here. I have no comparison since I have only done it once, obviously. This is around the 2nd half of 2021

I do get the sense na parang nasa-saturate na nga yung IT field especially the developers part because of the alleged pay. But this could just be confirmation bias since I am immersed in IT myself and in fact, two of my younger siblings are studying IT, and isa ko pang pinsan. Pero to be fair tatlong pinsan ko rin is architecture so it may just be a coincidence.

Edit: Be CAREFUL of the one top comment here advertising some sort of service that sends resumes to hundreds of remote jobs at once. It's very likely a SCAM
