Favourite Pile lyrics?
Post Body

I want to know, what are the songs that have smacked you like a tonne of bricks? What are the lines that have resonated with you and remained entrenched in your brain? Obviously Rick has a way of stirring emotions both musically and lyrically which I think is why the Pile fanbase is so dedicated, or at least one of the reasons. For me it can be even just one line that feels so smart and on point that really touches something within me and will end up stuck in my head for days. Some examples of my favourites:

“And shopping is much easier now” - Firewood - feels so simple yet so despondent? This whole song captures both sides of the coin of isolation, and the feeling of solitude for me.

“Stepping firmly down on the rake of best intentions” - Poisons - I think anyone that has found themselves ‘picking up’ and questioned what they are doing can relate to this.

Leaning on a wheel - Jesus, this depiction of an unhappy relationship is almost too good.

Sorry for the slightly self indulgent post, I just FUCKING LOVE THIS BAND. But yeah, what are the lines or phrases that have really got you?
