Morning All, girlfriend and me will be in the PF area July 16 thru 21 and I am seriously considering proposing marriage to her during this trip. Does anyone have any recommendations for somewhere special for this occasion? Busy, openly public proposal is out of the question but it does need to be special and romantic. We are late 50's - early 60's and although GF has been married before, has never had a proper proposal.

I know the area but haven't been in about 10 years. First thing that comes to my mind is a picnic at Cades Cove.

Give me your best ideas. I really want to make this special! FYI: We are staying at Log House Vacations off of Wears Valley Road.
